Forklift Operator

Job title: Forklift Operator Work Location: Hariss International Limited – Kampala, Uganda Division / Department: Transport Reports to: Forklift Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate and relocate merchandizes.

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the machine.

Responsible for products for storage.

Ensures goods are accurate and free of damage.

Performs picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards Efficiently moves product from one staging area to another.

Maintains the facility equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly manner.

On daily basis inspects and perform minor maintenance on forklift.

Ensures proper stock rotation.

Assists in maintaining security in the ware house and maintaining cleanliness and safety measures.

Assists in physical inventory counting.

Keeps appropriate reports for products when required.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: A minimum of a certificate in a relevant discipline.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment.

Key Requirements: A defensive training certification is a must A valid driver’s license with the correct class Excellent communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
