Position Summary:
As a Medical Assistant, you will support healthcare providers in efficient medical office operations. Your role is essential in delivering quality patient care and enhancing the productivity of our medical team. You will perform both administrative and clinical tasks, requiring attention to detail, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a Medical Assistant program, OR certification/registration as a Medical Assistant, OR 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of certification, OR 5+ years of experience as a Nurse Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant with at least 1 year of experience
Experience: Previous experience in a medical facility is preferred.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, confidential medical environment
Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe workplace
Physical ability to stand or sit for extended periods, lift moderately, and operate office equipment
Reliable transportation and flexibility to support other offices as needed
Strong computer and keyboarding skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for examinations according to established protocols.
Maintain updated patient charts and document sample medications dispensed.
Oversee the vaccine program in compliance with State guidelines.
Check and replenish medical supplies in exam rooms.
Report malfunctions of medical equipment to management.
Clean and sterilize equipment, preparing surgical trays as directed.
Assist healthcare providers during office procedures.
Perform EKGs and spirometry tests as ordered.
Communicate lab results to patients and ensure follow-up as necessary.
Answer prescription refill requests per office protocol.
Prepare specimens and paperwork for laboratory testing.
Instruct patients on proper specimen collection.
Check and dispose of expired medications monthly.
Obtain precertifications for tests and procedures as needed.
Schedule referrals and outside testing as directed.
Maintain a neat and organized work environment.
Document compliance with CLIA regulations.
Participate in Patient-Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborations.
May float to other offices and perform other duties as needed.
Ensure confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA requirements.
