YOUR FUTURE ENVIRONMENT
We are currently strengthening our international presence and are executing a major design-build project in Kristiansand, Norway: the E18/E39 urban motorway connection between Gartnerløkka and Kolsdalen. This €234 million project aims to improve traffic flow to the city centre and port through the construction of 1.4 km of 2x2-lane motorway, 12 structures, 1.5 km of track realignment, redevelopment of the ferry terminal, and installation of technical systems.
You will join a fast-moving, international team and take on the role of Section Engineer, coordinating the work of superintendents and ensuring efficient, safe and high-quality delivery of civil works on site.
YOUR MAIN TASKS
Reporting to the Construction Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Safety
Promoting Eiffage safety culture and ensuring compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
Stopping unsafe acts and reporting safety issues to management.
Liaising with the Safety Officer and HSE Manager on all safety-related matters.
Ensuring lifting equipment is operated by competent personnel.
Controlling storage and handling of dangerous substances.
Assigning tasks to appropriately skilled workers.
Production
Ensuring works are carried out according to approved method statements and within schedule.
Preparing and updating method statements, work control procedures, and work-specific environmental aspects.
Leading pre-job briefings and pre-activity meetings (WMS + JSA) for subcontractors and workers.
Updating the works programme and reporting potential delays to the Construction Manager.
Supporting the methods team in preparing ITPs and inspection documents.
Managing changes during execution and reporting them to management.
Subcontractors
Coordinating the work of subordinates and subcontractors in your area.
Participating in coordination meetings with subcontractors.
Quality
Opening and following up non-conformance reports.
Controlling manufacturing quality against specifications and approved samples.
Attaching all relevant records to the QHSE department.
Procurement
Providing technical input for procurement needs.
Ensuring purchase orders are properly coded and dispatched.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years’ site engineering experience in civil works (bridges preferred, earthworks profiles not suitable).
Norwegian language skills mandatory; English required.
Strong organisational and planning skills, with attention to safety and quality.
Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and internal teams.
