Our client is building a people-first assurance practice where Directors lead the business, not just engagements.
You’ll own a profitable book, shape the team, and serve as a trusted advisor to middle-market clients across complex accounting and transaction topics.
What you’ll do Lead a portfolio of assurance engagements from planning through delivery; manage budgets, margins, and on-time execution.
Act as primary client contact; build senior-level relationships and deliver proactive advice on growth, funding, M&A, and exit planning.
Drive practice growth: meet prospects, scope work, prepare proposals, and cross-sell services.
Mentor, coach, and review performance for managers/staff; champion a culture of helpfulness and continuous improvement.
Oversee quality: ensure compliance with firm QC procedures, GAAP/GAAS/SSARS; perform/oversee EQCR where appropriate.
Partner with firm leadership (COO/Partners) on strategy, operations, and firm-wide initiatives.
Maintain market presence via networking, niche community involvement, and professional development.

Qualifications CPA required; 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience (regional/National/Top 100 firm experience ideal). 3+ years in quality control/equivalent (EQCR, internal inspections, or technical review). BS in Accounting; MSA or MBA preferred.
Expertise with GAAP, GAAS, SSARS; exposure to transaction/M&A issues is a plus.
Proficiency with common firm tools (e.g., ProSystem fx Engagement or equivalent), CCH Axcess, RIA/Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, and Microsoft 365.
Flexibility to adjust during peak periods.
