A Day in the Life of a CRMG Referral Coordinator
The Referral Coordinator provides administrative support to department or clinic. This position is responsible for managing surgery and procedure scheduling, specialty referrals, scanning, monthly reports and work queues, and participation with department or clinic programs in addition to Office Service Support job duties.

Here is What You Will Be Doing:
Welcomes patients and obtains accurate demographic and insurance information; executes pre-registration and pre-authorization; obtains consent for services; schedules office appointments; obtains appropriate co-pays and account payments; and encourages patient portal registration.
Monitors and processes incoming patient referrals to ensure timely access to care.
Accountable for accurate and timely communication with patients regarding referrals, procedures, surgeries or appointments.
Oversees timely and accurate scanning into the medical record.
Runs and monitors monthly reports.
Provides patient instructions related to upcoming procedures or surgeries.
Provides procedure and surgery billing estimates.
Schedules high complexity appointments such as surgeries and other hospital procedures.
Coordinates surgery and procedure schedules with physicians and hospital departments.
Monitors work queues ensuring patients have completed the referral and all results are in the medical record
Schedules in office procedures/office visits and relaying appropriate information as necessary for continuation of care.

Knowledge of electronic health records

Here is What You Need:
High school diploma (or equivalent certification from an accredited program) or higher degree • -OR, One (1) or more years of job-related experience
One (1) or more years of customer service experience
One (1) or more years of clerical experience in medical field
Nice to Have:
High school diploma (or equivalent certification form an accredited program) or higher
Two (2) or more years of customer service experience
Two (2) or more years of clerical experience in the medical field
Previous EPIC experience
