ODOT Prequalified Coatings Inspector-OH Department: Construction/CEI Employment Type: Full Time Location: Columbus, OH Reporting To: Ron Quesenberry Description SIGNING BONUS True Inspection Services, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Mannik and Smith Group, is an engineering and construction management firm specializing in construction inspection and management services.

Our project experience includes inspecting asphalt and concrete roadways, bridge construction and rehabilitation, and coating inspection services.

We have provided inspection services to both the public and private sectors, including various state departments of transportation, counties, municipalities, and retailers throughout Ohio, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Maryland We are looking to add two experienced ODOT Prequalified Coatings Inspectors.

Must be willing to travel to various projects throughout the state of Ohio.

Key Responsibilities * Inspects, observes, and documents the surface preparation and painting of structural steel for quality assurance and to ensure contractor compliance with the painting specifications, plans, and/or proposals.

* Maintains records of all work completed.

* Uses the necessary testing equipment to record the conditions under which the work was done and makes independent measurements of coating dry film thickness * Inspects, observes, and documents the surface preparation and sealing of concrete surfaces for quality assurance and to ensure contractor compliance with the sealer specifications, plans, and/or proposals.

* Notifies the Contractor of non-conforming work.

Records the conditions under which the work was completed.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise * A High School Diploma or GED * ODOT Work Type 26 Structural Steel Painting Course * ODOT Work Type 57 Sealing of Concrete Surfaces Course * Successful completion of one (1) of the following requirements: * (NACE) Certified Coatings Inspector Level 1 Certified * (SSPC) or Association of Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Protective Coatings Inspector Level 1 Certified * (SSPC) or Association of Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Bridge Coating Inspector Level 1 * Must be willing to adhere to the work hours of assigned projects, which include daytime and nighttime shifts as well as working outdoors.
