Summary

As an HMI Developer, you will work alongside an experienced team of controls engineer to design advanced control systems for the metals industry. You will develop, test, and deploy graphically rich, easy-to-use operator interfaces that display the current state of sensors and control automated machinery. Come join our growing team today!

What you’ll do

Work with both controls engineers and project engineers to develop specifications for the HMI/SCADA (Human Machine Interface/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) specifications

Prepare screen mock-ups and create framework designs

Develop clear and eye-catching operator interface screens

Design a robust and scalable architecture within the SCADA/HMI platform

Perform SCADA/HMI Programming

Interface with PLC control systems, database applications (SQL Server) and other data sources

Conduct testing with project teams in simulated environments staged in the office

Assist with site commissioning and installation

Service existing systems as required

Travel throughout the NAFTA required

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years of experience a must have

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience with WinCC, Ignition, or other HMI platforms is an asset but not required

Experience with Virtual Machines and IT/Networking is a plus, but not required

Aptitude or interest for programming (scripting, C++, VBA, or other similar language)
