Job Overview

The Sr. Specialist Responsible Engineering Authority Project Engineer will support one or more key production programs (PAC-3, Mk 72, Mk 104, ATACMS, GMLRS, Javelin, MIR, Stinger, GEM-T). This role requires deep knowledge of all design and performance aspects of assigned programs, enabling accurate disposition of non-conforming hardware in real time. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Chief, Project, Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineers, as well as Product Managers.

Key Responsibilities

40% – Real-time WIP non-conformance prioritization (repair, scrap evaluation, functional coordination)

40% – Real-time process optimization & yield improvement support (TDP Integration, DFMEA/PFMEA risk management, KC classification updates, MRL improvements)

10% – Factory-specific technical inputs for root cause/corrective action (RCCA) and systemic learning

10% – Assist in designing/testing new equipment, processes, and systems

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of design & manufacturing aspects of assigned program(s)

Ability to assess and disposition non-conformances (UAI, Rework, Scrap) to keep production moving

MRB process knowledge and ability to represent AR MRB processes effectively

Expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles (Requirements, Risk & Opportunity management)

Working knowledge of CAD, GD&T, engineering test equipment, and Microsoft Office

Understanding of rocket propulsion components and theory of operation

Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and closure-driving skills

Adherence to safety regulations and engineering codes/standards

Preferred Qualifications

Six Sigma Certification

Proficient in CAD, GD&T, Analysis, or Materials

Experience in project, materials, process, manufacturing, and/or integration/test engineering

Prior work in root cause/non-conformance resolution

Experience designing/testing new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems
