SUMMARY

The Purchasing Coordinator will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of quality materials. This role involves collaborating with suppliers, department managers, and internal teams to maintain accurate inventory records and support production schedules. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, skilled in negotiation and vendor management, and possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess and select suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and delivery capabilities.

• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely placement of orders.

• Coordinate closely with department managers to confirm purchasing needs and deadlines.

• Maintain regular communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials.

• Verify invoice accuracy in collaboration with accounts payable.

• Update and manage inventory records using spreadsheets and software tools.

• Conduct monthly physical inventory counts across facilities.

• Collaborate with shipping and receiving teams to align material flow with production needs.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following PPE requirements.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for purchasing-related inquiries and support other purchasers.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 5 years’ purchasing experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and purchasing software.

• Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.

• Ability to analyze invoices and resolve discrepancies.

• Skilled in independent sourcing of products and vendor negotiations.

• Strong mathematical aptitude.

• Capable of working in environments with moderate to high noise, moving parts, and occasional exposure to fumes.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and perform inventory counts on the production floor.
