Product Development Engineer

At Itera Mobility Engineering, we are seeking a Product Development Engineer specialized in interior hard trim to join our automotive engineering team onsite in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Main functions to develop:

Responsible for the engineering, design, development, validation, timing, and production release of the Hard and Soft Trim interior systems.

The Engineer will have end to end ownership of their components and ensuring they meet vehicle functional objectives.

Develop component design, development, and packaging; Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing; change management; bill of material maintenance; prototype and production build support; issues management; CAD model management in Teamcenter; weight reduction, cost reduction and other efficiency improvement initiatives; and communicating technical product status to management.

Work with a cross-funtional team, collaborating with the rest of the areas from manufacturing and quality teams.

Should have knowledge and understanding of Tooling and manufacturing processes.

Must have handled projects for leading Automotive OEMs.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other technical degree required.

5-10 years working knowledge of interior hard trim (Plastic), and production assembly techniques.

Experience in CATIA V5/V6 is a must

Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R creation and execution. Knowledge of Injection molding DVPs & Testing specification.

Knowledge of joining elements, manufacturing, tolerance & assembly processes.

Good communication and presentation skills. High team spirit, learning attitude & Driven to win attitude.
