This startup was established in 2025 to commercialize a proprietary research, portfolio construction, execution, and risk management platform for systematic trading, developed and refined over the past decade. Headquartered in San Diego, the firm is led by former heads of proprietary trading desks, distinguished academics, and a highly skilled team of traders, computer scientists, and researchers.

We are looking for a highly motivated Python developer to work closely with other developers and researchers to design, develop, and expand our systems. In addition to core development responsibilities, this individual will also be responsible for maintaining and supporting our data center and cloud infrastructure.

The position is based in San Diego, CA, with flexibility for hybrid/remote work arrangements.

If you are excited to work at the intersection of technology and quantitative finance, and want to help build our next-generation trading platform, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain core trading and analytics systems using Python.

Maintain and upgrade core systems to current Python and OS versions

Optimize existing Python services and libraries.

Manage remote data center hardware and software, and build and maintain cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure) using infrastructure-as-code tools. Perform system and IT administration tasks, including managing user accounts and network configuration.

Collaborate with quantitative researchers to integrate machine learning workflows into production systems.

Support all phases of the software lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

3+ years of hands-on Python development experience, ideally with a focus on quantitative analysis within a financial services environment.

Proficiency in data libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib.

Experience with financial data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv/LSEG) and their integration into analytics platforms is preferred.

Deep knowledge of Linux systems.

Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform, Docker, CI/CD).

Database experience; MongoDB and Redis preferred.

Familiarity with REST APIs.

Solid understanding of equity and derivatives markets, and the full trade lifecycle.

Proven ability to work effectively with remote and cross-functional teams.

Experience collaborating with research analysts, traders, and operations professionals.

We are offering a competitive salary, full benefits, and potential for equity and bonus upside.
