SUMMARY
Makes, repairs and maintains jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, machine tools, cutting tools, gauges, and
other tools used in manufacturing processes.
STARTING PAY $33.00, with potential for a higher rate based on experience and qualifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Adhere to policies, daily work place organization & housekeeping; health and safety commitment;
personal cleanliness & appearance; attendance & punctuality and 100% first time quality
commitment.
• Repair production assembly equipment.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on jigs, fixtures, gages, dies, etc.
• Support of start-up and dies equipment.
• Make required gages, tools, jigs, fixture, etc.
• Document the executed work in the EDP-system.
• Run the Toolshop with all regarding machines like, mills, drill-press, lathes, grinders, etc.
• In addition to the duties, the job holder is subject to the instructions of all management.
to achieve orders belonging to his function or arise from operational necessity.
• Works from engineering drawings.
• Manufacture tools and parts from engineering drawings.
• Support production for troubleshooting.
• Conduct duties in a safe manner, follow all safety procedures, report incidents immediately, wears
proper PPE and conducts duties to their level of training.
• Other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and works directly with the staff in the
Maintenance department. This position has a communication relationship with all department
managers and other employees in the BAL Operations department.
COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE
• CNC programming experience a plus.
• High level working knowledge of mills, lathes, drill-presses, manual welding, surface grinders,
and heat treatment of metal, and all other typical Toolshop machines and tools is a must.
• Must be able to read mechanical and blue print diagrams.
• Working knowledge of gear drives, belt alignment, and experience working with machine shop
equipment a plus.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
• High School Diploma
• Preferred 5+ years’ experience as a toolmaker
• Preferred Journeyman-Card
• Preferred 3 years’ experience within maintenance
• Must have a certification in TIG and MIG
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Physical, etc.)
• Must have good documentation skills.
• Must have the ability to read drawings and prepare own drawings.
• Must be able to work weekends and extended shifts as needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
Has the authority to stop production if defective or unsafe parts or conditions appear. Has the authority to
reject non-conforming material from a supplier. Is empowered to prevent non-conforming material from
reaching the customer.
