About the Role

Reporting directly to the President and CEO, this position oversees the full scope of accounting operations, as well as payroll and selected HR functions. You'll lead a skilled 4-person accounting team, ensure financial accuracy and compliance, and play a strategic role in process improvement, cross-functional leadership, and cultural stewardship.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Leading all core accounting functions, including general ledger, AR/AP, billing, and month-end close

Managing daily cash flow, bank reconciliations, and internal financial reporting

Driving budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across the organization

Overseeing GAAP compliance and supporting PACA-related financial protocols

Handling payroll operations and related compliance filings

Administering key HR functions such as onboarding, benefits administration, and employee recordkeeping

Enhancing system capabilities, including use of Famous Software (our produce ERP platform)

Guiding internal controls, audit readiness, and continuous improvement efforts

Serving as the primary liaison to outside CPA firms, payroll providers, and tax professionals

Developing team talent and cultivating a culture of clarity, accountability, and innovation

What You Bring to the Table

5+ years of accounting leadership experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Background in distribution, produce, or perishables is a strong plus

Experience with Famous Software and PACA compliance is highly valued

Familiarity with payroll systems and basic HR compliance processes

Confident leadership and communication skills — you know how to lead a team and influence across the organization

A passion for using technology, process design, and team development to create sustainable success
