POSITION DESCRIPTION

Commercial Credit and Loan Administration: Evaluates the financial condition of

businesses and individuals applying for commercial loans.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Independently prepare credit approval and underwriting analysis of new, renewal, and existing commercial loans:

Analyze Credit risk in both existing and potential new commercial loan relationships.

Work directly with Commercial Lending Officers to obtain all necessary information needed to underwrite loan requests.

Prepare spread sheets, analyze financial information and develop cash flows of prospective and existing borrowers.

Performs analysis of existing and prospective vendors of the Bank, on an annual basis when appropriate, and on request.

Prepare loan offering memoranda, analyzing financial, collateral, cash flow and other appropriate information of prospective borrower’s and guarantors, assessing credit risk, if credit-worthy, underwriting in conformance with Loan Policy and present loan requests to appropriate loan authority level.

Assists in the collection of all pertinent information on commercial borrowers to ensure continued financial capacity and adherence to loan covenants.

Assists in maintaining an accurate record of financial information for each commercial borrower.

Maintains commercial credit files to ensure the adequacy of loan documents and supporting information.

On a limited basis, along with respective Commercial Lender, attend meetings with prospective and existing clients to obtain appropriate information regarding the Borrower.

Maintains a presence in local Chambers of Commerce and other civic or business-related organizations to maintain awareness of business lending opportunities.

On a limited basis, performs credit analysis on possible vendors of the Bank.

May provide guidance and/or training to Credit Analyst I when appropriate.

Participate in Management Loan Committee meetings as needed.

Perform other duties as required.

Completes all required compliance training as assigned in a timely manner.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & TRAINING REQUIRED FOR MAXIMUM PROFICIENCY: A bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis in business, finance or accounting with supplemental banking education/formal credit training preferred. Good financial analytical abilities. Proficiency in WORD, EXCEL and other MS OFFICE applications required. Familiarity with automated underwriting systems is a benefit.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers and subject matter experts.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of three years of related commercial underwriting experience. Knowledge of financial statement fundamentals, accounting precepts, and industry trends and practices required. Ability to conduct complex financial analysis, use spreadsheet software tools, and effectively communicate findings to loan officers and senior management

EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree is required preferably in business, finance or accounting with supplemental banking education.
