Essential Functions & Primary Duties
Assist engagement teams with month-end closing procedures
Assist the client with daily accounting services as needed
Has direct communication with clients to perform work and address clients’ needs and questions
Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and reconciliations for most asset/liability accounts and select revenue and expense accounts
Reconcile clients’ bank accounts
Prepare required journal entries, including but not limited to payroll, depreciation, and expensing of prepaid items
Assist with financial statement and supplemental report preparation
Process Accounts Payable and check requests on a recurring basis, review general ledger to ensure consistency and accuracy of coding
Process Accounts Receivable invoices and maintain AR system records for clients: general ledger coding review for accuracy and consistency, process cash receipts on a recurring basis
Assist engagement team with external audit and 990/ tax filings at year end by preparing schedules, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary information
Assist engagement team with year-end vendor review for 1099 processing
Perform self-review to ensure accuracy of work
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
CPA eligible
Accounting experience in public accounting or a non-profit organization, preferred
Demonstrated understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Proficient in multiple accounting software programs including but not limited to: QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Solomon, and Great Plains, preferred
Strong problem solving and analytical skills; proactive and takes initiative
Professionalism and relationship building skills
Strong time management skills and the ability to work in a matrixed environment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Taxation or related field
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
Proficient use of applicable technology
Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
The annual salary target for this job in this market is $75,000-80,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skillset of the individual selected for this position.
