Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Punctual for startup at the beginning of each shift and when returning from breaks.
Inspect all parts off of the Cylinder Head gasket press 100% to inspection criteria using defined inspection work instructions and inspection time criteria.
Performs and records quality checks as defined in work instructions to assure quality of all products inspected.
Prepare and print all paperwork, labels, check sheets and reports, etc.
Maintains ongoing operation by inspecting parts needed by assembly operation to maintain production flow and customer requirements.
Properly records all daily production performance.
Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Perform, maintain and record 5 S check sheets for layer inspection.
Use First In First Out inventory method for all layers.
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to operations manager.
Education and Experience
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Prior automotive manufacturing experience preferred
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required to be familiar with hand held measuring devices specifically micrometer, caliper and other tools/visual aides required for operation.
Ability follow first in first out procedure to sequence layers to be inspected.
Demonstrate ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
Basic computer knowledge required, experience with Microsoft Windows preferred.
Training Requirements
Must be trained on equipment specific TTN Cylinder Head Gasket Layer Inspection Training Check sheet
All OSHA required training
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours per day, unless overtime is required (max 12 hours per day).
Must be able to lift to a height of approximately 48” and carry a short distance, a minimum of 25 lbs. not to exceed a max weight of 50 lbs.
Frequently perform activities that have reaching (not to exceed above head), handling, fingering and visual requirements. Strong emphasis on handling and visual.
Frequent walking and stooping with the need to push and pull during loading and unloading of machine.
Stretching and bending to load layers/totes onto carts flow racks and section station.
Personal Protective Equipment
Safety Glasses with side shields (ANSI Z87.1)
Earplugs and/or ear muffs required. (company issued)
Long pants
Long sleeve shirt or protective sleeves (company issued)
Steel toed safety shoes (operator option)
Safety gloves at all times when handling steel parts.
Work Environment
Work performed in a manufacturing environment that is temperature controlled at all times and well lighted at manufacturing locations and throughout.
The manufacturing environment includes noise from stamping presses and other equipment equal to or in excess of 85dB, thus the need for hearing protection.
The general facility has fork truck and pedestrian traffic.
Operator is responsible for inspecting CHG layers coming off of the CHG press.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
