Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The Chef will be responsible for all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This role requires a strong background in food service management and culinary arts, along with the ability to create innovative menus that reflect our restaurant's vision.
Duties
Daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Develop and design creative menus that meet customer preferences while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
Monitor food quality and consistency to maintain high standards in every dish served.
Plan and execute special events.
Skills
Strong knowledge of food handling practices and culinary techniques.
Proven experience as a cook or chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, to ensure good relationships with FOH staff, vendors and management.
Experience in food service management, including budgeting and cost control.
Background in the food industry with a focus on food production processes.
Exceptional leadership qualities.
Join us in this exciting opportunity. Dolce Amici is a small, 25-40 seat restaurant, gelateria, and bar. The chef would handle all aspects of the kitchen and food production. Our focus is on healthy Mediterranean cuisine. We have a small dedicated staff: part-time prep assistant, part-time dishwasher, bartender/manager, Master Gelato makers, and excellent FOH wait-staff. Open for business since May 2020, Dolce Amici is a gem of our small Norway year-round community, and Summer residents alike. We are open year-round.
