Flat rate: $55-$60 depending on experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide exceptional treatment to our patients. You will evaluate patient functions, select and apply appropriate therapies to improve or restore their abilities. This role also involves collaboration with other healthcare professionals and may include responsibilities for training students and community education.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Graduated from an accredited program in Physical Therapy with a minimum of a B.S.

Must hold a current Connecticut license in Physical Therapy.

COMPETENCIES:

Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Proficiency in using Windows-based programs necessary for departmental functions.

Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is desirable, but not mandatory.

Access to reliable transportation to commute between multiple work sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate patients according to departmental standards.

Customize patient evaluations based on individual symptoms, activity levels, and medical status, establishing measurable goals.

Administer therapeutic exercises to enhance strength, endurance, coordination, and range of motion.

Utilize physical agents and manual techniques to relieve discomfort and achieve treatment goals.

Encourage normalization of motor activity and learning through effective techniques.

Instruct patients and their families in home exercise programs and functional activities to promote independence.

Assess when patients have reached maximum benefits and recommend discharge as needed.

Document all interactions in adherence to insurance guidelines and departmental policies.

Foster interdepartmental communication and coordinate with referring physicians regarding patient care.

Accurately process and submit daily charges.

Uphold the professional code of ethics as established by the APTA and the facility.

Ensure the correct application of body mechanics and safety measures during all duties to prevent injuries.

Supervise at least one affiliated student each year.

Engage in continuing education courses to enhance treatment techniques.

Participate in at least one departmental or community in-service each year.
