We are looking for a talented individual who shares our values to join our team as Customer Service/ Documentation Clerk. This position reports to the Senior Customer Service Coordinator and is responsible for delivering high-quality service by managing customer-related documentation and support duties for all principals—including Geest, King Ocean, Express Freight, Island Bargains, and other cargo vessels. The successful candidate will ensure all processes are carried out promptly, accurately, and professionally, maintaining the highest standards of customer service at all times.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Notify consignees of cargo arrival in a timely and efficient manner.

Register cargo manifests in the ASYCUDA system, including any required amendments.

Retrieve manifests from shipping lines such as Geest Line, King Ocean, Island Bargains, and others to facilitate cargo processing.

Prepare accurate export manifests for outbound cargo, ensuring all required details are correctly documented.

Attend to the customer service counter to process cargo releases, issue out-of-charge notes, and update freight records.

Respond to customer queries via telephone and ensure all principal/agent network queries are addressed promptly and professionally.

Notify consignees of uncleared cargo after the expiration of the carrier’s free-time period to mitigate potential demurrage or storage charges.

Receive payments from customers accurately and issue appropriate change and receipts.

Balance cash received at the end of each business day in accordance with financial reporting procedures.

Requirements:

Associate degree in business administration or a related field.

At least one (1) year of experience in an administrative and or customer service role.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Computer literate with the ability to handle office equipment and maintain filing systems.

Ability to remain composed under pressure, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
