JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for leading team to achieve the Platform targets during all the NPI phase implementing strategies to achieve Agility, Resiliency and Scalability Supply Chain to manage and mitigate risks and to release in Production a reliable and predictable Supply Chain.

Develop an engaged High-Performance Team

Contribute innovative ideas to improve Supply Chain projects and processes

Responsible for preparing effective reporting and presentations to the Management Team

Drive cross functional teams to address and resolve conflicts effectively with the cross functional team, the Suppliers and the Contract Manufacturers.

Implement Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Practices to develop an engaged and results-driven workplace.

Guide and prepare team to acclimate to rapidly changing conditions that enable us to scale and achieve current and new business opportunities.

Project management and cross functional coordination

Lead the NPI Execution team to provide functional deliverables supporting achievement of project goals. This includes project planning, schedule updating and proactively identifying risks and managing issues. Manage work commitments, ensuring required deliverables are completed on time.

Provide high quality, concise management reporting of status, risks & issues, ensure completeness and accuracy of information reporting related to the Supply Chain function. Support metrics reporting and complete all deliverables in a timely manner.

Make sure communication extensively throughout the supply chain to ensure continuous alignment of products and strategies during the NPI development cycle.

Drive cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain for specific strategic reasons, while accounting for risks, changes in schedule or demand.

Sourcing strategy and supply chain risk mitigation

Facilitate the onboarding of suppliers to support new technologies and New Product Introductions (NPI).

Put processes in place to ensure team identifies and drives actions to mitigate supply risk.

Architect supply chains that deliver products that meet or exceed expectations (quality, delivery, value) based on inputs from Business Units, Commodity Managers, Quality and Engineering.

NPI sourcing strategy development, management and execution

Cost management and DFx / SDR

Drive Product material cost management; BOM cost to identify cost reduction opportunities through design, content reduction/should cost and commercial means; ensure timely implementation of such opportunities.

Facilitate early engagement between suppliers and Lumentum design team to drive manufacturability, repeatability cost and lead time improvements.

Planning and production transfer

Ensure smooth and successful production transitions to meet program goals including ramp readiness with internal teams and external partners (e.g., material availability, cost/assembly/test/BOM/capacity readiness and transition plans).

Put robust systems/measures in place to ensure all supply chain commitments are met, plans are developed and carried out, and risks are mitigated for assigned products/suppliers.

Engineering, Program Management, Commodity Management, Supplier Quality Engineering, Product Line Management, Platform leadership, Planning team and Operations team

Contract Manufacturers and Suppliers

DIRECT REPORTS:

Team will be located mainly within China, but may be in other countries too.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Engineering or other relevant field, or equivalent practical experience

10 to 15 years of prior management experience in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Project Management, Engineering or Operations, or equivalent experience

Expert in NPI program management and demonstrated ability to achieve success in preparing for new product ramps

Proven attitude to influence across functional team and inspire the team

Requires exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, analytical ability, decision making, and organizational skills

Including fluency in – English and Chinese

Strong negotiation skill to manage critical matters and achieve business targets/goals

Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, goal oriented, task driven team player.

Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software: Word, Excel, Project and Power Point.

Experience in building and leading an engaged, motivated, skilled team who are able to work independently and achieve results.
