Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with a strong background in construction and architectural projects to support our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have prior NAVFAC experience and will be responsible for reviewing design documents and Performance Work Statement (PWS) packages to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality before submission to the U.S. Government.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and refine design specifications and PWS packages for construction and architectural projects

Ensure all specifications comply with NAVFAC standards, federal regulations, and project requirements.

Coordinate with architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify technical details.

Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or compliance issues and provide actionable recommendations.

Maintain accuracy, clarity, and completeness in all written specifications.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

Proven experience as a Technical Writer in the construction or architectural industry

NAVFAC project experience is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standards.

Familiarity with U.S. Government project documentation requirements.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
