Warehouse Operator
Description:
Location- Wemyss Warehouse, Inchdairnie Distillery, Glenrothes, Fife,KY6 2RX Planned Start Date: September 2025 Hours of work: 32 (4 day week) Reporting to: Distillery Manager Salary: Based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate Job Description and responsibilities · Assisting the Distillery Manager in his duties, including all aspects of warehouse operation · Strong attention to detail - accurate record keeping on the stock management system using a cask barcode gun and laptop · Complete activities such as cask filling, cask disgorging, re-racking and regauging casks, accepting and dispatching stock · Assist with tanker receipt and loading of tankers of spirit · Forklift use including using the cask handling attachments to move, palletise and stow casks in the correct locations efficiently and safely · Interpretation of risk assessments, company policies, work instructions and acting in accordance with them · Cask handling (a level of physical fitness as manual handling is required) · Promote a positive H&S culture · Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, tidy and secure This role requires the chosen candidate to adhere to all H&S, HMRC compliance and internal quality standards thus ensuring a safe site operation.
An enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn is essential.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, using their own initiative alongside being a solid team player.
Experience of whisky warehousing operations is desirable.
Previous forklift truck experience would be very advantageous but not essential.
The applicant must live within a reasonable commuting distance and have access to their own transport This role requires the chosen candidate to adhere to all H&S, HMRC compliance and internal quality standards thus ensuring a safe site operation.
