Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 plus bonus. Negotiable based on experience.
We are seeking an HVAC Control Systems Engineer to join our federal team. Our Engineers on this team get the unique opportunity to support some of our top government and military sites all over the United States, as well as some overseas. This role is responsible for engineering of HVAC Direct Digital Controls /BAS system projects. These duties may include cost estimating, site survey's, designing control system shop drawing submittals, generating product literature submittals, creating controller sequence of operations, etc

Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 plus bonus. Negotiable based on experience.
Location: Remote/virtual (work from home). Proximity to our Louisville, St. Louis, Washington D.C., or Huntsville office strongly preferred.
Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 3 floating holidays, 5 sick days, and 10 standard holidays (6.5 weeks of paid time off in total)
Travel Required: Typical travel is around 25-30%.
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will:
Design and configures hardware engineering for building control systems as defined by the contract documents; creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required
Configures and creates controller sequence of operations for HVAC building automation and control systems (Direct Digital Controls)
Support technicians by ensuring the quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs
Supports the pre-sales engineering process; cost estimating & sales support, performing pre-design site survey, designing control system shop drawing submittals, generating product literature submittals
Coordinate drawings and equipment schedules for submittal packages that communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, field installation team and subcontractors
Provides field change information to the project team for as-built drawings (typically in Visio/CAD) and software
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency and experience working with HVAC Direct Digital Control (DDC) system designs and drawings. 3+ years experience preferred.
Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems
Proficiency and experience working with pre-sales engineering support (cost estimating, sales support, performing pre-design site surveys, designing control system, shop drawing submittals, generating product literature submittals, design packages and submittals, etc)
Advanced computer skills, particularly with computer-related drafting tools. AutoCad and/or Visio experience preferred
Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
Ability to travel up to 30%
Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearances for projects being supported (background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit checks)
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with Visio
Experience working with Metasys or Tridium Niagara
Proficiency creating SCT databases, custom programs, schedules, trends, alarms, and programming modules
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, a vocational school four year program certificate, or an Associates Degree in Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Computer Technology, HVAC/R, or a similar field
