Position Overview
The Director of Catering Sales will be responsible for overseeing a Key Accounts Team, managing major partnerships, and fostering growth across our cafeteria pop-up, Food Trucks, Meal Prep Customers and private events programs. This leader will work with top-level clients and partners while implementing strategies to drive revenue, improve lead conversion, and enhance repeat business. The Director of Catering Sales is responsible for a quarterly and annual booking goal by actively managing, maintaining, and growing the sales pipeline/team. This individual will work on special projects as well such as with our Lemonade Brand AZ Lemonade Stand or our Kitchen rental business BLT Kitchens.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including generating leads, securing contracts, and expanding market reach.
Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Ensure client satisfaction and address any concerns or issues promptly.
Drive Sales Growth & Lead Conversion: Implement strategies to improve lead generation, enhance conversion rates, and monetize turn-downs through effective follow-ups and cross-promotion of our brands.
Strategic Planning & Market Analysis
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for sales and marketing to achieve business objectives and growth targets.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. Use this information to adjust strategies and stay competitive.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Team Leadership: Manage and motivate the sales and marketing team. Provide training, set goals, and ensure alignment with the company’s vision. Attend weekly meetings with culinary and operations teams.
Lead & Manage Sales Teams: Oversee the Key Accounts Team managing major food & beverage programs, including Phoenix Rising Soccer Club, Turf Paradise, and Desert Farm Lights. Foster relationships with 3rd party catering programs through Compass Group, Aramark, Sodexo, and Fooda.
Event Coordination & Private Events
Event Coordination: Work closely with the catering team to ensure smooth execution of events, coordinating logistics, and handling any last-minute issues.
Oversee Private Events & Food Truck Catering: Lead the Private Events Team, ensuring consistent sales and superior customer service for over 150 weddings annually, as well as corporate lunches, graduations, birthdays, and special events featuring our diverse food truck offerings.
Marketing & Brand Management
Marketing Campaigns: Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, and traditional advertising to enhance visibility and attract clients.
Cross-Promote Brand Portfolio: Ensure seamless cross-promotion of BLT Culinary’s brands (Aioli Burger, Modern Tortilla, Oakwood Fire Pizza, etc.), offering tailored food and beverage solutions to clients.
Financial Oversight
Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget, ensuring expenditures are within limits and yield strong ROI.
Reporting and Analytics: Monitor and analyze sales performance and marketing effectiveness. Prepare reports for senior management and use data insights to refine strategies.
Reach and Track Sales Goals- focus on setting clear, achievable targets, providing robust training and support, and fostering a motivating sales environment
Contract Negotiation
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable contracts with clients and vendors, ensuring agreements are mutually beneficial and properly documented.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sales Director or similar senior sales role, preferably in catering, hospitality, or food & beverage industries.
Demonstrated ability to manage key accounts and partnerships, including corporate and event-based clients.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams and driving performance.
Expertise in lead generation, lead conversion, client retention, and upselling strategies.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Experience working with 3rd party vendors and catering programs (e.g., Compass Group, Aramark, Sodexo, Fooda) is a plus.
