Job Summary:

The HR Intern will support the Huan Resources Department with a primary focus on compliance audits to ensure Boone Supported Living meets all state, federal, and accreditation requirements. This role is ideal for students seeking hands-on experience in HR compliance, auding, and policy enforcement within a healthcare setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct internal compliance audits of employee files, training, records, and credentialing documentation.

Verify compliance with state and federal labor laws, Department of Mental Health (DMH) regulations, and Boone Supported Living policies.

Maintain accurate audit logs, prepare reports, and track discrepancies.

Assist in updating compliance tracking systems for certifications, licenses, and mandator training.

Prepare materials for external audits and accreditation reviews.

Assist with preparing materials for new hire training

Education & Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in Human Resources, Business Administration, Compliance, or related program.

Skills Required:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to manage confidential information with integrity.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

Enrolled as a Sophomore or higher

Knowledge of HR compliance regulations and auditing processes.

Interest in healthcare or supported living environments.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

File Audit Accuracy: 98% or higher accuracy in reviewed documentation.

Timeliness: Completion of assigned audits within scheduled deadlines.

Compliance Tracking: Maintain 100% updated logs for training and credentials.

External Audit Readiness: Zero major compliance findings during DMH reviews.

Reporting: Weekly compliance summaries submitted on time with accurate data.
