Software Engineer III

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial Investment Bank you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, scan and deployment workflows
Administer and optimize GitHub Enterprise for repository management and CI/CD integrations via GitHub and Bitbucket
Automate repetitive tasks using Python or another scripting language
Monitor platform performance, availability, and security; troubleshoot issues proactively
Assist in the management of software releases, provide environment support, and offer production support as needed

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident having lived in the U. S. continuously for the past 7 years
Experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or a related role.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts and pipeline implementation
Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Proven expertise with Amazon Web Service, Spinnaker, Bitbucket and Terraform for resource provisioning
Hands-on experience managing GitHub Enterprise, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Kubernetes
Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell)
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
Exposure to cloud technologies
Experience using Groovy to script declarative Jenkins pipelines
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Dynatrace
Familiarity with security best practices in cloud-native DevOps environments
One or more domain-specific certifications (e.g., AWS Solution Architect, Terraform Associate, Certified Jenkins Engineer, etc.)

Base Pay/Salary: Chicago, IL $114,000.00 - $155,000.00 / year
