Job Summary

The Resort Application Development team partners with many stakeholders throughout Vail Resorts to deliver technical solutions that allow our business to deliver on the mission of Experience of a Lifetime™.

Our systems provide a platform for point-of-sale, payment processing, e-commerce, and various aspects of managing our portfolio of mountain resorts. In some cases, we work with both the software and hardware involved in bringing a solution to life.

We work primarily with C#, .NET, SQL, Angular and WPF, but we also have some smaller usage of other technologies.

In this role you would take ownership of our build & deployment pipelines and partner with our development, QA, & test automation teams to ensure a high-quality experience with those pipelines. You would also contribute to the holistic technical roadmap for our ecosystem in collaboration with the rest of the architecture team.

Job Specifications:

Starting Wage: $110,000 - $120,000 + annual bonus

Job Responsibilities

Design reliable build & deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy

Understand the deployment needs for many different applications and tech stacks

Improve our security posture through the implementation of code & dependency scanning

Assess software projects for their potential pipeline needs to help provide an estimation of timeline and budget requirements

Communicate complex technical concepts to many different audiences

Contribute as part of a team that may include people from all levels of the organization

Proactively improve the software development experience and process for our teams

Participate in an on-call rotation to support our critical systems

Job Requirements

Excellent communication skills

Experience as a technical leader (ideally a development team lead or architect)

Strong knowledge of using Git for source control

Significant experience creating and/or maintaining a variety of build & deployment pipelines

Ability to troubleshoot issues with build servers and design appropriate solutions

Ability to automate repetitive tasks using tools like Actions workflows or Runbooks

Ability to flex beyond pipelines and help triage issues in production applications

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field

Skills

Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

Experience in an application development role

Experience using monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk to identify problems in applications

Familiarity with containers and container orchestration platforms

Familiarity with Azure or another cloud provider

Familiarity with SOX, PCI, and/or GDPR Compliance

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
