Essential Functions

Produce annual budget and achieve budgeted goals

Oversee and follow goals presented in budgets

Work with sales and inventory managers to identify product orders

Ensure all orders are processed timely and efficiently

Oversee nursery marketing in coordination with sales and marketing departments, focusing on promotions, communication, customer appreciation, promotional materials, and events

Assist with purchasing wholesale materials

Determine quantities needed to supplement inventory shortages based on budgets

Monitor inventory and report discrepancies to the warehouse manager

Develop and improve pesticide programs and education, including chemical management and MSDS maintenance

Staffing and Safety

Hire, train, and supervise employees; assist with payroll

Assign work schedules and duties; manage time off and hours for payroll

Maintain safety awareness and enforce safety policies

Implement safety training and communicate policies to staff

Accommodate employees with light duty restrictions

Customer Service and Miscellaneous

Provide customer care advice and procedural guidance

Assist the General Manager in meetings as needed

Experience / Skills

Ability to coordinate multiple activities effectively

Problem-solving and effective communication skills

Ability to work under pressure

Forklift certification required

Physical ability to lift/carry 50 lbs; work outdoors in weather conditions

Pre-employment drug screening required; valid operation of equipment essential
