citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:As a Electrical Engineer - SONAR Power/Electronic Systems, you'll take a lead role in a small cross functional team responsible for the requirements analysis, trade studies, and system/electrical/mechanical design of new and future transmit electronic equipment.
The design team will ensure the equipment meets all functional requirements, performance characteristics and for the completion of program design milestones.
You will collaborate with design engineering, production engineering, subject matter experts and others in the development of this high-power electronic amplifier system to ensure we meet our customers high expectations.
Candidates will have demonstrated recent, relevant technical contribution to acoustic systems and shown the ability to lead and mentor others.We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: \nAcoustic systems for submarines and/or submersibles\nAcoustic transducers or projector applications\nInboard or outboard electronics\nPower/analog hardware and systems\nLinear amplifier design\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerform research trade studies analyses of data, in support of customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals, to determine feasibility of the design\nSynthesizes solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while staying within schedule and cost constraints\nLeads Modeling and Simulation activities\nLeads concept design activities through development and into production\nEvaluate components to determine performance impacts to existing designs.\nCreate and review hardware and system design documentation such as schematics, interface control drawings, assembly drawings and other technical documents to ensure high-quality deliverables.\nPerforms detailed technical analyses for a system and electrical subsystems to include: concept, requirements, platform integration, design and life cycle maintenance.
\nPerforms electrical requirements analysis, requirements definition, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies and interface definition studies of electrical elements\nPerforms technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for system electrical elements\nLeads customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels (subsystem, elements and components) \nLeads and performs the generation and maintenance of electrical work products (i.e.
plans, specifications, design documentation, etc.)\nLeads technical design and trade studies documents in support of proposal developments and customer presentations \nManages lower-level employees\n\nWhat you bring to the table:\nExceptional communication skills with the capacity to drive innovation and secure buy-in on concepts and ideas to drive the solution from concept to production.\nEffectively communicates technical and programmatic matters to senior level management, program offices, and internal/external stakeholders.\nUnderstanding of power/analog hardware and inboard and outboard electronic systems.\nProficiency with requirements analysis, system and electrical design deliverables/reviews and related tools.
