Description
What You Will Do and How You Will Contribute
Greet and assist customers to create a welcoming and helpful shopping experience
Help customers find the right products, provide recommendations and suggest solutions for their projects
Stock and organize merchandise to keep the store clean, safe and well-presented
Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing customer questions and needs
Assist with inventory tasks including cycle counts, stock verification and record-keeping
Upsell related items and promote the Do It Best rewards program to build customer loyalty
Follow all company procedures to help ensure smooth daily store operations
Process sales accurately and follow proper cash handling procedures at checkout
Continue building product knowledge across all departments to enhance service and sales opportunities
Address and resolve customer concerns with the support of management as needed
Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area throughout each shift
Complete all assigned training to stay current on products and company policies
Support other departments as needed to ensure excellent service across the store
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management
What You Will Bring to Our Team
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Comfortable using computers and POS (point-of-sale) systems
Previous retail or related experience is a plus
Familiarity with inventory tasks like cycle counting is helpful
Strong customer service mindset with a willingness to go the extra mile
Team player attitude with flexibility to support wherever needed
Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate customer needs and offer effective solutions
Physically able to lift and carry 25–50 lbs, bend, twist, squat and reach during your shift
Available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends based on business needs
Bonus qualities we're looking for:
Working knowledge of power and hand tools
Experience with building, DIY projects or basic construction
Confidence in answering general construction-related questions accurately
