Title: Senior Project Engineering Lead – Level III (Jr. - Mid level)

As a senior-level engineering leader, this role is accountable for driving the successful delivery of complex automation and material handling projects. Acting as the primary technical authority and coordinator, the Senior Project Engineering Lead is responsible for ensuring all aspects of engineering—from concept through completion—are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Execution
Lead cross-functional engineering teams through all stages of project development—from initial concept to final commissioning.
Direct system architecture and integration activities, covering mechanical layouts, hardware interfaces, field installations, and operational testing.
Guarantee that the engineered solution meets performance expectations, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Strategic Planning & Team Coordination
Establish engineering milestones and timelines while aligning them with broader project goals.
Serve as the technical liaison between internal departments (Project Management, Site Operations) and third-party contractors or vendors.
Align engineering workflows with organizational priorities and actively mitigate execution risks.
Project Control & Documentation
Maintain up-to-date and organized technical documentation, ensuring traceability and archiving upon project close-out.
Provide regular updates on engineering progress, identifying roadblocks and opportunities in coordination with project stakeholders.
Budget Oversight & Safety Leadership
Track engineering-related costs and assist with overall project budget adherence.
Promote and enforce safety compliance during the engineering phase, conducting necessary risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
At least 5 years of relevant experience managing or executing large-scale industrial or automation systems.
Ability to travel up to 50% depending on project location and schedule.
Strong leadership skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
Comfortable working under pressure and resolving engineering challenges quickly and effectively.
Familiarity with mechanical installation standards, control systems basics, and electrical design fundamentals.
Proficiency with common productivity tools, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Experience and Credentials
Formal project management training or certification (e.g., PMP).
Background in logistics, warehousing, or automated material transport systems.
Experience in mechanical system validation and test strategy development.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers. Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000 per year salary
