Objectives
The Delaware County Human Resources Department is accepting applications for a Deputy Clerk in the Title Division of the Delaware County Clerk of Courts offices. The Deputy Clerk of Courts will maintain the official records of motor vehicle and watercraft ownership for the residents of the State of Ohio.
Job Standards
High School diploma, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Excellent customer service skills both in person and on the telephone
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent grammar, writing, mathematical skills, spelling, punctuation and handwriting
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced office
General computer knowledge and excellent data entry skills
Cash drawer accounting and daily balancing experience
Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including Saturday, as required
Previous title experience, preferred
Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record
Regular and predictable attendance with superior work ethic
Essential Functions
Issuing, recording and canceling Ohio certificates of ownership
Transferring ownership of vehicles and watercraft
Work consists of moderately complex and varied tasks requiring application of laws, rules, regulations and procedures
Wide variety of problem solving using sound judgment and analytical skills
Calculating and collecting sales tax and title fees on title transactions
Daily reporting to county and state agencies
Scanning and archiving all documents related to title transactions
Maintaining filing system of title documents
Monitoring records according to retention schedules
