A Brief Overview
The Underwriting Support Analyst logs in submissions and renewal information into the underwriting system. Enters account information, census data, plan document information and calculates preliminary manual rates. Follows up for additional data with client or broker. Works directly with HMO clients and Brokers and needs to use discretion in declining quotes and requesting additional information when warranted.
What you will do
Maintains marketing database with information for all appropriate business partners and prospects.
Logs proposals into system, enters census data, plan document information and calculates preliminary manual rates and review for completeness.
Follow up with client for missing or incomplete information, as needed.
Request renewal information, obtain and update ongoing claimant detail, calculate renewal manual rates and review for completeness.
Decline quotes that are incomplete or do not meet requirements.
Maintain positive working relationship with HMO clients, brokers, underwriters and claim staff.
Monitor key performance metrics (turnaround time, quality proposal submissions).
Escalate issues to underwriter when appropriate.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent related work experience. required
Customer service and/or data entry experience. required
Experience in sales support, underwriting support/ account management preferred
Experience using the David Young system preferred
Experience in the insurance / reinsurance industry. preferred
Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills required
Basic knowledge of insurance required
Takes initiative and is accountable required
Must possess investigative skills required
Ability to multitask required
Ability to work independently required
Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects required
Intermediate written and communication skills required

Compensation Range:$55,850.00 - $79,800.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
