Instructional Designer

Under the supervision of the Director of Learning Design and Academic Technology, the Instructional Designer (Professional Services Specialist 2) is responsible for providing instructional design, academic technology implementation, and project management expertise for the development of academic courses and specialized educational programs for online and hybrid learning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: instructional design; project management of course/program developments; overseeing pedagogically relevant technology deployment; faculty development in instructional design and pedagogy; creation of e-learning course components and management of associated platforms; independently performing professional work using established policies, procedures, precedents and guidelines; and performing related work as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional experience in instructional design is required. A combination of teaching experience and instructional design is also acceptable. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Experience developing online courses is preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of learning management systems; knowledge of emerging tools as related to teaching and learning; and exceptional oral and written communication skills for working with different internal and external audiences.

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is: $92,367.13 - $103,447.47 (Steps 6-9). Salaries for internal applicants will be based on union negotiated calculations.
