Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic MyChart Communications Manager to lead and shape our digital patient engagement efforts. In this high-impact role, you will oversee the operations and strategic direction of Epic MyChart and other digital patient communication tools across Spartanburg Regional. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Communications & Marketing, you will serve as the dedicated operational leader and champion for SRHS’s MyChart experience.

Your mission? To transform the way we engage with patients digitally — driving adoption, enhancing communication, and improving the overall patient journey, while supporting revenue growth and ensuring a seamless, modern digital experience.

Minimum Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Healthcare Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital health, EHR/EMR systems (preferably Epic), or healthcare operations.

Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering large-scale digital health projects.

Proven success implementing healthcare technologies and boosting patient engagement metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Informatics, or a related discipline.

Experience

5+ years of experience managing digital health technologies with a strong focus on patient communication and engagement.

Experience working within value-based care models.

Demonstrated success driving adoption and ROI for digital health platforms.

Certifications

Additional Epic certifications (Care Companion, Telehealth, Welcome, etc.).

Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.

Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) or equivalent project leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the enterprise-wide operational leader for Epic MyChart and related specialty programs, ensuring strong adoption and seamless integration across all system entities.

Lead operational strategy and execution for MyChart, including new features like eVisits, self-scheduling, proxy enhancements, and remote patient monitoring (RPM).

Support and manage the Patient Communication Governance structure by developing, implementing, and evaluating patient communication strategies.

Drive initiatives to improve digital communication, enhance patient self-service capabilities, and support overall digital transformation efforts.

Collaborate closely with IT, clinical teams, operational leaders, and external vendors to align digital strategies with organizational priorities.

Champion data-driven decision-making, utilizing dashboards and analytics to measure patient engagement, adoption, and ROI.

Oversee governance committees, ensuring consistent standards and cohesive messaging system-wide.

Serve as the vital link between clinical, technical, and administrative teams to ensure MyChart features meet strategic goals.

Support compliance and regulatory initiatives to safeguard patient privacy and strengthen digital trust (e.g., HIPAA compliance for proxy access).

Continuously assess and enhance the digital patient experience to boost satisfaction, usability, and performance.
