BWC's core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC's seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.
What You'll Be Doing:
Provides professional guidance to the consulting staff and the management of the division in technical ergonomics/human factor engineering matters.
Provides assistance to consultants to become technically proficient and competent in the consultation process and provides assistance to Loss Prevention Supervisors by participating in the interview process to review technical skill/knowledge for new and promoted consultants within the division.
Develops and recommends policies and procedures to assure the quality and consistency of ergonomic field staff surveys, consultations and technical assessments and assures quality of consultation work products.
Reviews technical information to maintain state-of-the-art methods, equipment and philosophies including: trade journals, new/revised and proposed standards and best practices.
Participates in training programs that develop technical competence or improve performance and understanding for both internal and external customers. Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety or other related degree.
Preferred: Master's degree or other advanced degree in Ergonomics or a related field. Preferred Certifications:
Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) or other similar certifications related to ergonomics (highly preferred)
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) (a plus)
This position is overtime exempt
