Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Job Description

Perform medical laboratory testing on patient samples, including routine and complex technical procedures and functions in the laboratory information system. Tasks may include phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, reporting, and storage. The role involves machine calibration and troubleshooting, documentation, and adherence to appropriate regulations. You will occasionally communicate with parents to deliver test results.

Responsibilities

Conduct medical laboratory testing on patient samples.

Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing of patient samples.

Execute routine and complex technical procedures in the laboratory information system.

Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

Document procedures and ensure compliance with regulations.

Communicate test results to parents when necessary.

Essential Skills

1 year of experience in a laboratory setting.

Knowledge in Chemistry, Biology, and Medical Laboratory practices.

Proficiency in laboratory operations and technical procedures.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associates in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or Bachelors in Medical Lab Science (MLS).

1 year of lab experience required for regular Science Degrees.

Bench laboratory experience.

Comfortable performing phlebotomy on children.

ASCP certification is not required, but the role is a great start for those interested in obtaining it.

Work Environment

The role is based in a laboratory setting where you will work with various laboratory equipment and information systems. The majority of patients are children, so comfort with pediatric phlebotomy is essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.86 - $32.86/hr.
