Truck Mechanic
Reports to: Truck Shop Foreman
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Hours: 12:00 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Overtime and Saturday work will be required occasionally
Job Location: 2040 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, OH 43207- This position is in-person
General Overview: The Truck Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains passenger, light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks. They repair and maintain equipment and machines related, associated, or mounted to trucks. This person should consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership.
Responsibilities:
Diagnoses and repairs all electrical and mechanical systems
Identifies and records necessary parts and part numbers for repairs, and reports them to the parts department
Uses scan tools to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes and performs system tests, calibrations, regens, and other bi-directional functions
Utilizes shop repair software to aid in vehicle diagnostics and repairs
Uses tablets to create and complete work orders
Keeps the shop facility and personal workspace clean and free of clutter
Performs annual DOT inspections
Inspects and maintains passenger, light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks
Repairs and services truck-mounted equipment, attachments, and related machinery
Knows and adheres to all Company policies and procedures;
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Truck Mechanic must be physically capable of performing tasks that require standing, walking, bending, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods. They must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly. The role involves working in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, and potentially hazardous fumes or chemicals. Mechanics must be able to operate hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and heavy machinery safely and efficiently. Physical stamina is essential for performing repetitive and strenuous tasks throughout the workday. Additionally, the position requires sufficient hand dexterity, as well as adequate vision and hearing, to perform precise mechanical and diagnostic work.
Qualifications
A CDL will be considered preferred, but is not required.
Must be willing to obtain a CDL within six months of the date of hire.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. (George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is a BWC that tests for Marijuana)
