Job Description
Specialty Underwriters LLC is seeking an Underwriting Data Entry Specialist. This position will focus on managing underwriting data and supporting the underwriting team with business tasks. This position involves contract analysis and abstraction, data entry, verification, and coding for quotations in the SUMIT™ database. This role provides an opportunity to interact with various company teams, including Underwriters, Account Coordinators, Reimbursement Processors, Account Executives, and Sales, ensuring smooth data flow and process efficiency.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the quote submission process and ensure timely updates to data systems.
Categorize and code equipment for new and existing customers.
Accurately input contract data into the SUMIT™, our underwriting database for new business and equipment additions.
Review data for inconsistencies and making corrections to ensure accuracy.
Assist with automated uploads for underwriting quotations.
Organize, file, and scan underwriting documents and maintenance contracts.
Train colleagues on data entry procedures, ensuring consistency and quality in the data entry process.
Provide support for underwriting projects and other team-driven initiatives.
Perform general office support to meet business objectives, enhancing team collaboration.
Follow standardized processes to maintain attention to detail, accuracy, and high-quality results.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma with relevant experience. Associate degree preferred
Specialty Underwriters Required Training:
New employee orientation, SUMIT™ training, and any other relevant product or departmental training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other similar programs.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Excellent time management, organizational and multitasking skills.
High attention to detail and an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Knowledge of document scanning and filing processes.
