Job Description
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding production machines and equipment. This includes mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems. The role also involves maintaining and repairing facility HVAC and air compressor equipment. The technician must be capable of working unsupervised and stepping in as department lead when necessary. Strong electrical troubleshooting experience is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand and effectively use machine tools, machinery, and equipment, including their related mechanical systems.
Move machines per detailed layout, level, and assist in all hook-ups.
Assist in developing and implementing maintenance and facility improvement programs to enhance plant and equipment performance.
Assist in directing installation, maintenance activities, repairs of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems.
Identify current and future maintenance requirements.
Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Ensure efficient operation of plant equipment and services.
Assist in designing and implementing preventative maintenance (PM) programs as required.
Maintain and safely store all chemicals.
Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
Skills Required:
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Comprehend instructions, schematics, drawings, work orders, product information, equipment settings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
Work from written or verbal instructions.
Use required measuring instruments and gauging devices.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information to large groups regularly.
Experience troubleshooting motors, servo drives, encoders, and PLCs.
Proficiency in using a variety of electrical and electronic test equipment, meters, power tools, hand tools, machine tools, welding equipment, precision measuring tools, forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to present information in one-on-one situations to vendors, clients, and other employees of the organization.
