The Position: Full-Time Restaurant Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Restaurant Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring a high standard of customer service and efficient business operations. This is a full-time, ongoing position.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations Management

• Coordinate and supervise all front-of-house activities to ensure smooth service delivery.

• Manage day-to-day operations in alignment with operational procedures and business goals.

Staff Management and Training

• Recruit, train, roster, and supervise FOH staff.

• Provide ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and staff development opportunities.

• Resolve staffing concerns in accordance with workplace regulations.

Customer Service and Quality Control

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of food and beverages to ensure consistency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Address customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.

• Monitor dining room operations to uphold a high standard of service.

Financial and Cash Management

• Manage budgets, wages, and operational costs.

• Handle daily cash transactions and ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Monitor and analyse business performance data and recommend improvements.

Inventory and Supplier Management

• Oversee stock ordering, inventory control, and regular stocktakes.

• Liaise with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery and quality of goods.

• Ensure supplier agreements align with performance and cost expectations.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, and hygiene standards.

• Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and regulatory compliance of the dining facility.

Menu and Beverage Oversight

• Collaborate with kitchen team to maintain a modern and appealing menu and beverage list.

• Review customer feedback to inform menu adjustments.

• Ensure all items meet production and visual presentation standards.

Strategic and Business Contribution

• Work closely with senior management to contribute to business planning and strategic initiatives.

• Assist in the planning and execution of events or marketing promotions.

• Support long-term growth through operational improvements and customer engagement.

Required Skills

o Education: Diploma or higher qualification in hospitality management or a related field.

o Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of full-time work experience in a similar role, with proven ability to lead a team and manage restaurant operations.

o Core Competencies:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Proven leadership and staff supervision abilities

• Attention to detail and ability to maintain service consistency

• Experience in conflict resolution and customer service

• Understanding of workplace health and safety standards and regulatory compliance

Conditions of Employment

o Hours: Full-time (38 hours per week), including availability on weekends and public holidays as required by business needs.

o Salary: $76,515 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.

o Location: On-site in Wollongong, NSW.
