Description
Responsibilities & Duties
Conduct the following types of FEM analysis on Hi-Lex products/assemblies:
Linear and non-linear
Implicit and explicit
Modal
Apply contact constraints to assembly models
Develop internal FEA methods and specifications to meet customer requirements
Provides technical feedback to customers and/or Hi-Lex engineers regarding part/assembly FEA outputs, design and optimization options
Material curve generation from raw stress-strain data
Ability to read and edit input decks (.inp, .bdf, .rad, .fem)
Qualifications
Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:
4-year degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology or a related field, or equivalent experience, required.
3-5 years’ experience in a FEA or automotive design function is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem solving skills
Computer literacy with capability in email, MS office, and related software
Proficient with the following FEA software:
Abaqus
Hypermesh
Catia V5
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Office environment with noise from computer peripherals such as printers and plotters.
Position requires 10% travel domestically
Sometimes works around factory equipment.
Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects - up to 25 pounds.
