Job Description
Summary:
As a Composites Layup Technician at RACE, you will be responsible for performing tasks to help build high-performance parts for automotive seating systems. This role will be trained to work with carbon fiber and other cutting-edge materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Comply with written work instructions, standard procedures, and processes to assemble composite materials
Work with materials like carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aramid (Kevlar)
Use tools like routers, sanders, and hand tools to shape and finish parts.
Assist in fitting core components with attention to close tolerances.
Assist in laying out and marking dimensions and reference lines on materials to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or use templates.
Deliver quality products and services on time.
Handle materials safely and follow workplace safety.
Assist in performing non-routine and non-repetitive procedures in the fabrication, curing, build-up, and assembly of various types of composite materials.
Gain basic familiarity with composite technology, including hi-temp plastics, pre-impregnated epoxy composite materials, graphite epoxy, wet graphite, and silicone injection molding.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Previous work experience in a plant or production environment.
Lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis using proper lifting techniques.
Work with small hand tools, including routers, die grinders, band saws, and Dremel tools for layup and assembly tasks.
Use basic mathematics skills and precision measuring tools to support layup and assembly processes.
Attention to detail.
