About the Role:
Job Summary
The Clinical Manager oversees clinical operations while providing management and supervision for the nursing department of the assigned LTC facility. Monitors to ensure facilities are consistent in policies and procedures. Functions as the LTC Nursing Manager (DON) in assigned facility. Responsible for developing the nursing standards and evaluating the staff development programs for the facility. Develops department goals, objectives, standards of performance, policies and procedures. Functions in an advisory capacity to administration in evaluating proposed procedural changes as they relate to resident care. Supervises and mentors Nurse Managers of assigned LTC facilities within the organization. Performs Antibiotic Stewardship responsibilities assigned in accordance to the LTC Antibiotic Stewardship policy.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications: RN, maintains current RN licensure with Georgia Board of Nursing.
Educational Requirements: Associates Degree.
Minimum Experience: Three (3) years experience in long term care supervision and successful experience overseeing the nursing department of a nursing home.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Oversees all clinical operations of the LTC facilities. Monitors to insure facilities are consistent in policies and procedures. Reviews and approves any necessary changes in clinical operations. Reviews and approves any necessary changes in clinical operations.
Functions as the LTC Nursing Manager (DON) in assigned facility. Supervises and mentors Nurse Managers of other LTC facilities within the organization.
Assists in orientation of new Nurse Manager of other LTC facilities within the organization. Insures that Nurse Managers of all LTC facilities carry out the LTC clinical operations in a consistent manner.
Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the facility nursing services and functions as facility supervisor in assigned facility when the administrator is out of the office.
Demonstrates effectiveness in management of FTEs and budgetary provisions according to resident needs, federal and state requirements, and organizational policies.
Effectively plans and conducts conferences and discussions with administrative and nursing staff to encourage participation in formulating departmental policies and procedures, promoting initiative, solving problems, and interpreting new policies and procedures.
Effectively plans ways to promote the growth and development of nursing staff members through in-service programs, workshops, seminars, and other continuing education opportunities
Effectively maintains all required records for the department.
Effectively collaborates with nursing department and other staff members in developing, planning and implementing new resident care programs.
Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of the coordinated medical and nursing resident care management and implements changes as appropriate.
Demonstrates effectiveness in the interpretation and implementation of administrative policies, nursing policies and/or state or federal regulations.
Regularly makes inspection tours to ensure compliance with established standards, regulations, procedures, safety, environmental and infection control and quality assurance. Implements corrective actions as needed.
Promptly investigates complaints concerning nursing services and takes appropriate actions.
Consistently monitors and documents performance of staff members; utilizes appropriate disciplinary measures as necessary; counsels staff when appropriate.
Ensures that a pertinent, written, multi-disciplinary care plan is developed for each resident.
Ensures that the state approved resident assessment is completed according to state/federal regulations.
Ensures that a rehabilitative/restorative nursing program is an integral part of the nursing services and of the multidisciplinary plan of care.
Demonstrates effective delegation skills in the management of nursing personnel.
