Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients through teaching, research and patient care; and providing the community/region it serves with high quality services in cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation as one of the nation’s 10 free standing “cancer-only” hospitals. The James is the only cancer program in the country that features a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center on the campus of one of the nation’s largest public universities.
The James Facilities Planning and Operations Department is responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities that support the delivery of high-quality patient services and effective hospital operations. The department is responsible for all James owned and/or managed facilities including the James Cancer Hospital, all outpatient sites, and administrative centers. The department works collaboratively with all departments in The James and acts as the liaison to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center support services departments including Security, Facilities Operations, Facilities Planning, and Facilities Design and Construction.
Position Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Associate Director, James Facilities Operations, the Ambulatory Care Associate Administrator uses business expertise to provide support to department operations including project management, resource planning and development, procurement, organization, process improvement, standardization initiatives, building safety and compliance, and environmental services specific to the James Martha Morehouse Outpatient Care (“Morehouse Tower”) campus located at 2050 Kenny Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree in relevant field desired.
4-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in lab or healthcare facilities
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Experience working with operating and capital expenses and budgets
Position requires leadership ability, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communications skills, and continued professional development.
Ongoing:
Excellent writing and communication skills with superb attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
Energetic creative thinking
Meeting mandatory education and health surveillance requirements
Demonstrating competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
