Purpose:

The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling of all surgeries with a high level of proficiency. This position will report directly to the Practice Manager and will receive supervision from the lead Scheduler.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicating with patients regarding questions for scheduling surgery and appointments, pre- and post- surgery

Providing pertinent information to patients regarding surgery

Documenting critical information into the EMR system

Responding to physicians and patients in a professional and courteous manner

Coordinating with referring physicians, physicians, and clinical staff

Understanding and communicating insurance process and possibly educating patients with respect to finance options

Providing back up to the front office staff as necessary, including patient check in and incoming phone calls

High school graduate or GED and current certification, if applicable.

One year medical experience in a physician's office or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred; will train a highly-motivated new graduate.

Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA requirements.
