Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing finished goods, MRO supplies, and non-inventory items, while managing supplier performance, demand planning, contract negotiation, and international logistics. This role will oversee procurement operations in SAP, align purchasing with sales and production forecasts, and develop sourcing strategies to support company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Procure trade goods from UUSE and locally purchased finished goods (Wolff/Pallmann), maintaining MRP and master data in SAP for all finished goods.
Oversee procurement activities across multiple locations, utilizing SAP MRP to create and manage purchasing schedules, maintain accurate master data, and place purchase orders for non-locally manufactured goods and services.
Monitor inventory levels across multiple U.S. locations and place purchase orders accordingly to maintain product availability.
Coordinate with Sales and Product Development teams on demand forecasts and NPI planning to ensure accurate supply chain alignment.
Manage all PO communications and status updates with vendors, suppliers in Germany, and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries.
Act as the lead negotiator for logistics agreements and outbound shipping contracts, centralizing cost-effective logistics strategies.
Issue and manage RFQs and RFPs, evaluate supplier quotes, and award contracts based on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
Develop and maintain accurate vendor files (electronic and hard copy); ensure vendor onboarding requirements are met (insurance, safety forms, COIs).
Resolve supplier-related issues including defective goods, delivery delays, and payment discrepancies in coordination with internal stakeholders.
Manage all aspects of MRO and services procurement across the business, including sourcing, approvals, ordering, and reconciliation.
Support non-inventory procurement including: Obtaining quotes and evaluating proposals, submitting purchase requests and approvals, issuing and receiving POs in SAP and Concur, reconciling invoices and resolving payment issues.
Collaborate with Global Shipping providers to align delivery schedules and resolve logistics issues.
Maintain a centralized database of contracts, supplier agreements, and NDAs to ensure compliance and accessibility.
Prepare reports and dashboards to track supplier KPIs, vendor performance, inventory metrics, and cost-saving initiatives.
Conduct cost analysis and market research to inform procurement decisions and mitigate supply chain risk.
Schedule and lead cross-functional meetings with stakeholders to address pricing, availability, and supplier performance.
Train and mentor plant-level buyers (if applicable), ensuring consistency in purchasing practices across sites.
Present procurement strategies, sourcing plans, and performance updates to senior leadership.
Partner with logistics and warehouse teams to analyze supply chain workflows and identify inefficiencies or gaps in processes.
Develop and recommend process improvements to strengthen checks and balances across purchasing and logistics procedures.
Conduct root-cause analysis of logistics challenges, providing timely and practical solutions to resolve issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure purchasing practices align with inventory control, shipping, and warehouse operations.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field – Preferred
Experience:
5+ years of procurement or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment
3+ years in a supervisory or team leadership role
Strong proficiency in SAP S/4HANA or comparable ERP/MRP systems
Skills & Competencies:
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Analytical skills in forecasting, cost modeling, and market analysis
Experience with RFQ/RFP processes and contract management
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities.
