PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Monitor and operate the HISD Discipline Alternative Education Program. Work with students, teachers, and school administrators to ensure the effective operations of the DAEP program. Assist the DAEP teacher in the preparation and management of instructional activities and administrative requirements. Work under the supervision of certified teachers and school administrators.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Ability to work well with High School aged students
Ability to implement firm but fair student discipline
Ability to communicate effectively
EXPERIENCE:
Prefer experience working with children (i.e.: as a substitute teacher or as a teacher’s aide.
