We are in search of a meticulous and analytical professional to manage the accounts receivable operations of one of clients here in Columbus, OH. This position not only supports core accounting functions but also leads efforts in billing, collections, and reconciliation. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in accounting practices and hands-on experience in AR processes. This role also has room to grow into more general Sr. Accountant within 1-3 years so Accountant's are welcome to apply as well!
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable, including issuing invoices, processing payments, and overseeing collections.
Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
Track aging reports and proactively follow up on overdue accounts, resolving discrepancies and negotiating payment solutions.
Accurately apply incoming payments to outstanding invoices and resolve any mismatches.
Reconcile AR sub-ledger with the general ledger, investigating and correcting inconsistencies.
Provide regular reporting and analysis on AR metrics, highlighting trends and performance insights.
Contribute to month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries and supporting audit documentation.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and compliance regulations.
Participate in special assignments and assist the Controller with ad hoc accounting projects.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounting or finance, with a concentration in accounts receivable.
Strong grasp of accounting principles and hands-on experience with billing and collections.
Proficiency in accounting ERP's and Microsoft Excel.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and identify patterns.
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
Self-starter attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Familiarity with AR compliance and regulatory standards.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial operations.
Pay Details: $58,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
