Data Center Technician

Join Tandym Group as a Data Center Technician in Northern Virginia. We are seeking motivated individuals for our night shift team to provide critical 24x7 technical support in a dynamic data center environment.

About the Opportunity:

Hybrid or Remote: On-site

Shift: Night Shift

Schedule: Full-time

Hours: 40 hours per week

Setting: Data Center, with local travel within a 5-mile radius (mileage reimbursed) Responsibilities:

The Data Center Technician will be responsible for:

Providing 24x7 technical support in the data center.

Installing and configuring network systems from the data link layer to application layer.

Monitoring and maintaining network availability for remote server access.

Engaging in site layout, network construction planning, and quality control for data safety.

Supervising server support to troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues. Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in IT or data center roles

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field

A+ and CCNA certifications (preferred)

Knowledge of network architecture, TCP/IP, and routing

Experience with server installation and configuration

Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces

Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle Desired Skills:

1+ years of experience in a similar role

RAID, SAN, SCSI, and boot process knowledge

Knowledge of power and air flow systems

Proven experience in customer and coworker interaction

Strong oral and written communication skills
